The property was purchased in the 19th century by Juan Camarillo Sr. and later inherited by his sons, Adolfo and Juan Jr., whose legacy lives on in the nearby city that bears their name. In a gesture of familial generosity, Juan Jr. gifted this very parcel to his cousins — a family connection that remained until the land changed hands just last year.
A Legacy of Land, A Future of Care
Originally built in 2006 and thoughtfully remodeled in 2025 to serve as a licensed residential care home for the elderly (RCFE), The Orchard is the first of its kind in Santa Rosa Valley. Surrounded by open farmland and nestled within a working lemon orchard, the home blends peaceful country living with the professional care and amenities of upscale assisted living. From the balcony, residents can watch the rhythm of agricultural life unfold — the lemon harvests, annual pruning, and quiet days in between, all visible from the comfort of home.

To honor the land’s agricultural roots, we’ve created a private, terraced orchard just for our residents and their guests. Here you’ll find fragrant citrus — oranges, limes, and kumquats — as well as juicy stone fruits like nectarines and peaches. Fig trees and berry bushes (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries) offer a sweet surprise throughout the seasons.
Guests are welcome to stroll the orchard, pick fruit straight from the branch, and enjoy the simple pleasure of nature’s bounty — just steps from the front door.
