The Story
We didn’t begin our journey in healthcare. In fact, when we first started looking for a business to invest in, we were searching for more than just a livelihood—we were looking for a way to make a real impact in the community we call home. That moment came when a close friend shared their experience working in a board and care home. They spoke candidly about the industry’s reputation—homes that were understaffed, impersonal, and often just getting by. It was disheartening, but it also sparked something. We knew that older adults, who have contributed so much to their families and communities, deserve better in their later years. They deserve homes where they’re truly known, where dignity and comfort come first, and where care is personal.
That vision became Regal.
Since opening our first home in 2015, we’ve been committed to redefining what small residential care can look like—warm, respectful, and rooted in quality.
The Founders
We’re Don and Ribka Brodt, husband-and-wife founders of Regal. We live and work in Ventura County, where we’re also raising our daughter. Having lived and traveled around the world, we’ve come to deeply appreciate the beauty and tight-knit spirit of this region. There’s no better place to call home—and no better community to serve.
Don holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and brings over a decade of experience in general construction. His background plays a critical role in designing and remodeling our homes to ensure they’re not just functional, but beautiful, calming, and tailored to resident needs.
Ribka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and leads the day-to-day operations with a focus on high standards, compassionate care, and strong relationships—with both residents and families.
We bring different strengths to the table, but we share one driving belief: every senior deserves to feel safe, valued, and at home.
The Commitment
We believe that great care is built on trust, consistency, and respect. Our homes are intentionally small so that our staff can provide highly personalized attention. Meals are shared at the table, staff are awake 24/7, and families are always welcomed as part of the care team.
What started as a single home has grown into a family of care communities—including our original Regal Care home, the centrally located Regal Residence, and now The Orchard, our newest luxury home overlooking a lemon grove.
